ISM: Compliance… A Process Perspective
October 10 @ 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM$40
This event is with hosted by our partner organization Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Western Washington Chapter.
An effective compliance program should be an integral part of the continuous improvement processes that are the foundation of professional management today. Procurement professionals cannot approach the compliance process with a check-box mentality or playing the kind of blame game lawyers use in litigation after a loss has already occurred. When compliance is truly successful, then it is contributing to the same value creation process as every other part of an organization while it also helps to insure regulatory, contractual and social responsibility duties are fulfilled. This is because:
· If an organization doesn’t create value for its stakeholders, then neither the organization nor its compliance program will survive; but
· If an organization’s compliance process misses the target but it’s creating real value for its stakeholders, then it still has a chance to survive, and so to improve.
Join us as Jane Winn, UW Professor and leading international authority and instructor on compliance, shares a few of her thoughts on compliance in the procurement world. This will be an interactive learning event!
